What about laptop users?

To account for laptop ('notebook' computer) users in your organization, a proxy.pac file can be used to encompass all users.
When a laptop user is in the office, they will be going through the CyBlock Appliance.
When they are away from the office, the pac file will realize the appliance is not present, and will let these users go direct after a few seconds, with no browser reconfiguring necessary.

A proxy.pac file is created automatically upon installation of the CyBlock Appliance.
All that remains for you to do is to "push out" the necessary browser setting to users.

If your organization is using Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, you can automatically push out the browser setting via GPO:

1) A proxy.pac file is automatically created for you upon installation of the product.
2) Push out a GPO (Group Policy Object) via your Active Directory to all users' browsers:
3) On your Active Directory Domain Controller, open Active Directory Users and Computers.
Right-click the root of the domain, and select Properties.
    Select the Group Policy tab.
You need to edit the Default Domain Policy GPO:
    Maneuver to User Configuration.
    Maneuver to Windows Settings.
    Maneuver to Internet Explorer Maintenance.
    Maneuver to the Connections folder.
    Double-click Connection.
    Right-click Automatic Browser Configuration.
    Select Properties.
If it is present, remove the checkmark in the "Automatically Detect Configuration Settings" checkbox.
Check the "Enable Automatic Configuration" checkbox.
It is optional to configure an interval time (to reload policy).
Go to the Auto-Proxy URL (.JS, .JVS, or PAC file): box.
Enter the URL for the auto-configuration. For example, where "xx.xx.xx.xx" is the IP address of your appliance or proxy:
    http://xx.xx.xx.xx/pac/proxy.pac

4) Click OK until you have closed all configuration windows.

The browser is now configured for all users in the domain.

In addition, if you find it necessary to make some modifications, there are a few hidden product screens that will allow you to make changes.

You will find the hidden proxy PAC information at this location within the product (note that a simple loopback IP is used in the below example, you would substitute that with the IP of your CyBlock Appliance):

http://127.0.0.1/advancedsettings/proxy ... index.html

You will find links to:

-modify the proxy being used
-bypass certain URLs
-bypass authentication for certain sites.

Some information already exists on these screens by default, in order to ensure smooth operation of the appliance. We recommend that you do not delete those entries if possible.
