All manual reports bring up invalid timeframe

Postby beddo on Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:57 am

Hi,
We are looking into testing different proxy monitoring products and are currently trying out Cyfin Proxy.
At the moment it looks quite good, we have a windows 7 machine attached to our domain and we can make IE and Firefox automatically identify usernames without any hassle (Opera still prompts for a username twice when you first open but I'm the only one using Opera). The default build on the website has the https bug, but running an update cured that however I am left with being unable to run any manual reports.
I've tried from IE8, Firefox 3.5 and Opera 10.10 to rule out browser issues.

Basically, whenever I try to run any manual report it always brings up the following regardless of whatever options are selected:

Status Message
Status: Invalid report timeframe.
Problem and Solution(s)
Problem: The "Start Date/Time" selected cannot be greater (later) than the "Stop Date/Time".

I'm not sure where to go from this and being UK its a bit difficult to call tech.
We also emailed sales a few days ago asking about pricing structures but never heard back..

The reports are every standard one that is included in the basic install, I wouldn't know how to email any of them.

As for the time frames, all I am given is a list of drop downs, yesterday, previous 24 hours, 48, week, month, year etc. No matter what option I pick it always says invalid time frame.

Whilst testing today I actually had a few problems with connection speed and stability so we'll see how those go for a bit before pursuing the price query..

Would like you to try the following:

1. Stop your Cyfin service
2. delete the file '..\wc\cf\db\plugin\wavecrest.war
3. Restart the cyfin service
4. go to Setup -- Download settings and click the submit button. You should get a green success bar.
5. Close window and click on 'download' button
6. after new list has download and is loaded
7. Check the Logfiles -- Viewer for all valid logs for 2010.
8. Try report again.

Any luck?

No difference unfortunately. The download is fine just as when I first did it after the install. The logfiles show one valid for each day since setup as they did before redownloading the database.

Are you able to run a sample report and get data or do you get an error message exactly as if running a manual report (Help -- System information --
Sample Reports or just login and you should see two buttons to run sample reports).
Also, what is the language set to (Advanced Setings -- Language Settings).

Thanks.

The sample reports run fine.

Language, it is set to English/United Kingdom but I've just tried US and just "English" and they produce the same error.

Its odd because this is a pretty standard install and we've done very little to it so far.

Development has created a new patch that we believe will resolve you issue. Please do the following:

1. Download the patch from the following link:

ftp://ftpread:WcCi34rTtr56w@ftp.wavecre ... ecrest.jar

2. Stop your current Cyfin proxy service

3. Rename the file '..\wc\wavecrest.jar' to 'wavecrest810.jar'

4. Place the downloaded 'wavecrest.jar' file into the '..\wc\' directory

5. Restart your Cyblock service.

What are your results?

Thank you.

No joy I'm afraid, it does exactly the same as before despite now having the 3.6 Mb .jar instead of the 2.6Mb
