Enable SSL-only access for Reports engine?

Postby taupehat on Mon Feb 08, 2010 1:36 pm

Hi,

I may have missed it in the manual, but we'd prefer to use SSL (self-signed keys are fine) access to the Cyfin Reporter webapp. How is this configured?

You can set the browser to communicate securely by doing the following:

Open the file '..\wc\cf\db\cfs.cfg' with Wordpad
Change the following lines:

BROWSER_CONNECTION_TYPE=1 (to change to use secure protocol - https)
BROWSER_COMMUNICATION_PORT=443 (if you want to change the port number as well)

Let me know if you have any further questions or issues.

Thanks! Aside from the slashes pointing the wrong way and the reference to something called a "Wordpad" (is that a new tablet from Apple?), the instructions worked perfectly. From curiosity, is that config change available somewhere in the admin guide?

Touche'

Is this better:

Open the file '../wc/cf/db/cfs.cfg' with VI ...

:-)

And this information is currently not in the user manual. The proper authorities have been notified and it should
be added in the near future.
